Zoo

I can't update pictures because of this computer. Maybe I can try later with another computer. Christine and I went to the Manila Zoo Saturday and the Rainforest Park in Pasig city on Sunday. It was nice. Christine said the zoo was cleaner and had way more animals when she went as a kid. It was nice to see some animals that maybe north americans zoo would not have like Crocodiles and some exotic asian birds.

A Saints fan

Growing up in Canada, the only football I could watch was the Canadian League and Montreal Alouettes were not back yet. But in the newspaper in the Sports section, I would always have an eye on the NFL. Since no Canadian teams were represented in the NFL, I chose a team I could like and follow. First thing I did is to look at every teams logo and when I saw New Orleans Saints Fleur de Lys as their logo, I decided to root for them. Fleur de Lys is the flower in the Quebec flag.
I bought a jacket of the Saints that I wore during my High school years. The team had numerous rough seasons most of the time but this year, they are good. I also like the Bills now, because I live here.
Tonight, I had the chance to watch the Saints on NBC while packing for my trip. It's rare to catch them so I enjoy it a lot. They destroyed the Cowboys easily and it was fun to see them on the field. At 42-17 and close to another TD, they decided to run the clock down. They are now second seed in the National Conference with 3 weeks to go. Maybe it's their year. Congratulation to that organization who had a rough time last year after Katrina.
Good job to the Bills for their victory versus the Jets also today.

Tomorrow I will be on the plane for 22 hours before seeing my wife. Then I will continue the Tales there.

Still Mighty

Even though the Sabres are awesome, there is one team in the West who are presently on a five wins streak and they lead the Western Conference by miles.
They changed their name from the Mighty Ducks to only Ducks but they are still very, very Mighty. They own 2 of the best defensemen in the league in Pronger and Niedermayer and Jean-Sebastien Giguere is having a solid season in the net for them. Selanne is just amazing again and they seem to have lots of fun.

Season of Typhoons

I feared for 8 hours. A typhoon swept into the central Philippines on Saturday. Typhoon Utor is the second storm to batter the archipelago in as many weeks and brought gusts of up to 150 km (94 miles) per hour and heavy rain to the island of Samar, next to Leyte, the island where my wife is from, about 600 km southeast of Manila.

Utor was upgraded from a tropical storm to a category 1 typhoon, with 5 being the maximum, earlier on Saturday.
Thank God, I could contact her around 11am my time. Her cellphone regained signal and I spoke with her. She was traveling from her province to Tacloban, capital of Leyte. Normally, it takes two to three hours. At midnight, she still did not reached her destination, but at least I know she's out of the typhoon now.

I am going there in 2 days right in the middle of the series of typhoons, but it's okay, I rather be with her then not.

Dead or Dead

I saw action flick Dead or Alive in the Philippines with my wife back in September. It still has not been released here in North America. I don't feel great or special. The movie was a total waste of time. Five babes trying to kick some men's butt. And they succeed! What a surprise! And they happen to be all gorgeous, just like the video game for X-Box. One of many game-to-movie flicks that went wrong or could have been way better. I will surely watch another movie there in Philippines. Eragon maybe.

Three more days and I am with my wife.

Tourist Visa

I love Canada! I just went to the Canadian Consulate at the One HSBC tower downtown Buffalo. First I am so lucky to have one consulate 5 minutes from my place. There are only 6 Consulates in the US (Buffalo – Detroit – Los Angeles – New York – Seattle – Washington, D.C.). I took the application that Christine will need to apply for her tourist visa when we go at the end of the month. Then when we actually go apply, it will take only 3 hours to actually get the visa. Everything is just easier and faster with Canada.

Sabres bolted down Lightning

I spend a good evening. Eating chicken wings with friends while watching a hockey game. It might have been the last game I could watch before a while, probably until 2007. And Sabres won their 21st victory of season with Daniel Briere's first hat trick. Nice one!

Six More days and I am in the Philippines with my wife. The moment I have been waiting all my life.

Winter in Philippines

Monday December 11th, I will go back in the Philippines to pick up my wife. She will be here for the first time on December 27th...freezing! Not only it will be her first time seeing America, but also the first time she gets to dress with more than a t-shirt. Today I bought her a starting kit: gloves, scarf and hat. I hope they will be warm enough. I think she will be really cute with those colors which are her favorites.
Wait for more posts from the Philippines as I will be celebrating Christmas in my birth country.

Starting the tales

This is the beginning of my blog. Excuse me in advance for my English because it is not my first language. I really want to write.
It took me a long time to name my blog but I looked up my computer and saw my two posters of Icewind Dale, the Role-Playing game for PC. Icewind Dale is a turn-based strategy role-playing game based on the rules of Dungeons and Dragons, and the main story happens in a world filled of snow,ice and fantasy. Today is very cold and snowing in Buffalo so it's the first thing that came into my mind.
